Kenyan Poets Lounge: Rohio and Juliet: A Kenyan Romantic Drama!

Kenyan Poets Lounge: Rohio and Juliet: A Kenyan Romantic Drama!: This is a play dealing with social justice, politics, tribalism, love and hate.  What better for Valentine's and the election period! ... This is the story of Rohio and Juliet, a Kenyan story loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the classic romantic tragedy.
In a plantation there is usually the illusion of an idyllic farming group. However, beneath its deceptive exterior, the Chola's plantation is anything but calm.
The Chola's are uptight and feel entitled to the land and the people that work their land. The farm workers have little or no rights, until one of them becomes a lawyer, and their re-education begins. The unthinkable then happens – he falls in love with his family’s masters’ daughter.
What follows is a dramatic musical adventure full of humor and tragedy staging of the Musical Rohio & Juliet with better props, stage and changes in the script, new twists & turns.
Almost same cast & crew but everything else is bigger and better.
It’s on 16th&17th this February and 23 rd & 24th, two shows per day at 2:00pm & 6:00pm
